Antique Kaiser Ww1 German Military Officer Saber SwordHeavy-duty. A solid & most rugged owrld war one military saber! A sword that has sreved its officer well! Presenting a histoirc saber from the days of kaiser wilhelm ii! With a powerful curved blade! A sahrk skin grip! An actual epriod collectible. Not one of the glitzy modern fabrications! Intimidating looking and most solid! Genuine from the period! A military sword for your collection! A side note we believe this sword to be from the first world war period. However someone claimed it was a 1796 cavalry sabre, a type of sword still used in later years during the battle of waterloo. Military swords are not our specialty, but we still think that this sword is from teh world war one era. Admittedly, we know little about military weaponry. Masonic and fraternal swords are a specialty of ours.
Only occasionally do we come across a military sword, and bearing this in mind, we will try as best as possible to describe this item, which came to us as part of a larger collection. This seems to be a circa world war one sword from germany.
It is not a mint item by any means and certainly sohws its age. With oxidation and staining from light rust, anyone can tell that this sword is a genuine period piece. There are a few tiny nicsk on the blade.
But, with its dramatci swooping shape, he blade still looks impressive. If one looks carefully at the base of the blade, one can detect some etched designs. But they are very light and not easy for us to decipher. Amazingly, this is a very solid sword. The grip has original sharkskin decorated with wire, which is quite nice. It is curious how there is hardly any loss ot the shark's skin. The sword is quite an interesting relic and it also feels rather substantial when held in the hand. This is definitely not a newly made reproduction.Please look at teh pictures. Although there is little else we can tell you, we are certain that the sword collectors out there are familiar enough with this type of tiem to know all about it. Without doubt, genuine part of military world history. The sword witihn the scabbard measures approximately 38 â½ inches. Alone the sword is about 37 inches with the blade near 32 inches.
