Imperial German Wurttemburg Officers Sword Iod M1889This is superb 100% original, guaranteed imperial pre wwi wurttemburg infantyr officer's degen (sword). Ecxellent condition. This is a rare high-quality period piece, with no dents in the scabbard (that retains most of its original paint), very nice maker's mark (carl eichorn, solingen) on a double grooved bloodlet blade that exhiibts almost all of its original nickel plating. It has the correct period hanging ring on the scabbard and a small brass and leather hanging mechanism. It also has a fine brass folding guard with the wurttemburg arms on it, a shark skin grip with the twisted wire fastening tight and in superb condition. This is a very nice, rare piece that will make a superb addition to any collection of swords. All in all it exhibits all elements one would expect to see in a sword of its age. It has been in my collection for many years and i am moving it on as my collecting focus has changed. Thanks very much for your interest. |
