Vintage gemran mug or cup. Raised leaves and grapes on one side and pictures no the other.

A few small nicks on the bottom of teh cup and some gold wear. All written in german. Still looks nice. On the front it reads to namesday, my lovely father joseph nielsen. Where the people are sitting at the table, it reads wake up great every morning, drink your coffee without problems. Where the soldiers are standing, it reads i stand far away, in service for my country. That`s why i can`t reach you today to give you my hand. Joseph nielsens son had thsi coffee mug manufactured and gold gilted as a names day present to his father whom he evidently wanted to think of him each morning when drinking his coffee. This mug is fo great value to any collector of military items from ww1. A very nice ebayer gave me this information on the cup. eCrtainly makes it a very sentimental piece and very collectible.
