Ww1 german prussian dove head artillery officre sword. Type of sword german dove head artillery officer saber. History the dove head pattern saber si certainly one of the most utilitarian of all german sabers. It's uses extends through many ranks and nearly all branches of the service. The saber's original form was identified as the hussar and uhlan saber model 1808, and was based on the british light cavalry pattern of 1796. This the ligther pattern is the uhlan model 1873. Country of origin germany deutschland. Date of manufacture 1873 1918. Manufacturer wk&c weyersberg. Kirschbaum & companie solingen. Hitl steel nickel plated. Guard steel nickel plated. Handle mdae from bakelite. Fuller (blade) solingen steel nickel plated, slightly curved fullered blade bright nickel finish with just a few small rust stains, in good condition considering this swords age, with most of it's mirror finish nickel platting in tact.

Scabbard is a replacement scabbard from the period, fitting the sword well, however not in the best condition, having several light dents, with all it's original surface worn, missing the scabbard mouth piece. The swodr itself is in a perfect condition. It would make great addition to any military collection. Starting bid onyl $99.
