This one is made of a nice heavy cotton-linen. All the reproductions of these flags we have seen to date have been made of rayon/silk. You hvae rarely ever seen any of these flags made out of cotton/linen.

This flag is identical to the original in every respect. The stitching on teh side is exactly like the ww1 originals were made. And the rope is the same style material as used from 1914-to 1918. The imperial maltese cross flag was used up into the middle 1930s. The flag is imprinted on both sides with the iron cross. And the ww1 maltese eagle. All in all this is one beautiful flag you can add to your collection. It would look fantastic with some u-boat models or collectibles. We sold one last month to the same museum in austria that purchased one of our white top u-boat caps. They used it in a u-boat display. It measurse 25 long. (right to left). And its 16 top to bottom. Has the rope with top loop on the left side for hanging or displaying just as the originals did. There are no marikngs on the flag. Same as latewar issue would not have. Our falg is the ideal size for a display. Its not easy to work in a 3' x 5' or larger kriegsmarine flag in a display.
